Guidelines When Taking Horse Photos

By Virginia Wright

You may want to have a photograph of your pet which you can have it framed or stored as a memory for you in future. The photo will be able to store your memory for the future or decorate your home. Here are some of the things you need to note when taking Horse photos so as to get clear photographs. By noting these factors, you are sure to get a set of worthy photographs.

To get good photographs, it is important to ensure that that the photograph is weak lit. Taking photographs of areas that are brightly lit will result in photographs that are overexposed and have a lot of harsh dark shadows. Furthermore, ensure that you properly set up the camera as improper set up can also result in the over exposure and wash out.

It is also important that you get the automatic cameras instead of depending on the manual ones. This is because with the automatic cameras you are not expected to balance a lot of settings and still get the best photographs. However, for an experienced and trained photographer, they can opt to get shots using the complex set of settings needed to operate the camera.

If possible, avoid using the flash as this tends to alter the coloring of the eye of the pet. It also alters the coloring of the pet coat by bringing out the textures and shading which would have been lost during an overcast day. However, you need not to constantly worry about using the flash function due to fear of causing red eye as the red eye is easily removed in the digital photos labs.

Trained pets are usually easier to take photographs of as compared to the untrained ones thus it is bets to ensure that your pet is trained. Trained or not, you will still need some items to make the photography session easier. The common materials used include a pair of helping hands, some treats. Toys and patience.

At times, you may need the animal to face the camera directly; this can be achieved through using treats or toys to have their eyes focus on the camera. Doing this and taking the photograph will prove to be a difficult task thus a helping hand in carrying either one of these activities will make it easier for you to take the photographs.

To further create expressions on the pets, you can use various sounds to heighten their senses or warrant certain reactions. Different sounds result in different actions, for example, propping up of the ears, brightening of the eyes and cocking of the head to one side. The sounds are thus a way of bringing out the personality of the pet in the photograph.

It is not an easy task to take photographs of a pet who is uncomfortable with the process as they do not make good photograph subjects. This also applies to stubborn pets. For such pets, the best option would be having someone else hold the pet down as another takes the photograph. The process is also easier as the background can be easily removed.
